Short getaway.

Hi guys, in order to not let myself end up being lazy to blog, I've decided to blog about the short getaway I had for the past 3 days. Just about 5 months ago during October, I went to Genting Highlands with my family. Little had I expected, we went to Genting Highlands again 3 days ago, but now with an addition of my sister's boyfriend, Steve.

I can say I wasn't really looking forward to the trip because I really got bored of Genting Highlands. My family used to go there every single year since I was in Primary School. Therefore, there's really nothing to look forward too, plus we already went there recently. The reason why we're going there again is because my sister won a free room at Theme Park Hotel. So my parents arranged another trip over, but this time, its a short 3D2N trip.

Last year, we visited the Strawberry farm, in replacement of not going to the theme park. The whole trip was pretty boring, especially when the trip to the Strawberry farm was a total disappointment. Thus, this year I thought we're not going to the Theme Park again, so I wasn't really looking forward. However, my sis bf wanted to go to the Theme Park, so I was a little more excited for the trip when I realize that we are finally going to play the rides in the Theme Park again! :D

And so, we got up as early as 430am to get ready. We met Steve over at Tampines Interchange to board the coach. The coach set off at around 630am. I was really tired, so I slept in the bus all the way until its 10am. For the past years, I usually would watch movies that the coach provide, but this year I was too tired.

There, that's how tired I was.

As we were sitting at the far end of the coach, I got a little bit nausea. I had an urge to vomit, but I tolerated because I really hate vomiting. When we finally reached the top of the mountains at Genting Highlands, my Mum said my lips were super pale.

We then went over to the Theme Park Hotel to check in. We reached around 12pm. Steve checked in at First World Hotel, since we're going to check in there the next day cause the free room my sister won was only one night. Theme Park Hotel is a lot more spacious than First world hotel, however, its has very less rooms and is more secluded. Although its situated right outside the theme park, there isn't much to walk around as compared to the area around First World Hotel where the night is always young at the First World Plaza.

The room was really spacious and the decor was really nice.

The view was the Garden at the ground floor. First Worlds Hotel rooms view are all WALLS. Hahaha.

And so, here's me without any make up and with spectacles on. #nofilter #noedit #original. HAHAHA! Actually all the photos uploaded in this blog post is unedited and original, because I'm just too lazy.

To make up for that ugly photo above, here's another photo of me in make up and without spectacles.

I realize there is a difference in my face as compared to last year's Genting trip. Here's another photo of me during last year's trip.

I look a lot older with the longer fringe and trimmed eyebrows. My eye bags has lessen but the dark circles are always there.

Anyway, to side track a little, I had a hair cut this afternoon, and I can say it was a drastic change. I wasn't expecting this before the hair cut. The hairstylist has 20 years of experience! I asked for a V-shape style and she provided more than what a normal hairstylist would give.

This is the back view of the before and after haircut. I really dreaded the straight cut hairstyle I had before and really miss the v-shape I had way before. This hairstylist even trimmed layers for my hair.

The front view and the side view when tied up in ponytail. The upper half of my hair now has more volume because the lower part is being trimmed till so thin. The sad thing is that I can no longer place my ponytail at the side of my shoulder when I tie my hair in ponytail. Its too short now! T_T

Nevertheless, I was quite happy with the change.

Okay, back on to the right track. We went to have Dim Sum for lunch at this particular restaurant that we visited before during the last trip.

All the food we had!

Century Egg Porridge that we shared among us.

I forgot what this was but it tasted like steamed fish paste.

This is fried ribs with eggplant. It was really nice. The ribs I meant. Not the eggplant.

This tasted average. It was nice, but not that awesome. Haha.

These fried prawn dumplings was my favorite dish throughout the whole meal!

Yam balls which wasn't really nice. The yam was really sticky.

Another yummy fried dish with prawn inside.

This one was half a roasted chicken. We actually order roasted duck, but duck no more, so we ordered chicken instead.

Afterwards, we went to have a walk at the gardens at the bottom of our hotel because we wanted some fresh genting air. We expected it to be cold and nice, but it ended up being super sunny that we left after awhile.

A photo with my mum.

And another with my daddy!

A family photo taken by Steve. Look at our eyes. The sun was really getting sunnier.

Full body shot with my sister. I think I have grown fatter again. Sigh. ):

This photo of me doesn't makes me look like I'm at Genting. I look like I'm at China or something.

The first day was kinda boring, we ended up going for dinner at around 5 plus. Genting really have nothing to shop or walk around. I mean, its kinda boring unless you go to the theme park or casino. Anyway, I managed to went in to the Casino without being check for IC. Hahaha. But I didn't really like it in there. The whole place smelled of cigarettes. It made the whole place really stuffy, I left the place with my cheeks burning red. ):

Dinner at Happy Valley Restaurant. The food here is really good. We come back for it every time we are here! Its situated just at the lobby of Theme Park Hotel!

Sambal Squid with long beans.

Sweet & Sour fish. Me no like. Haha, I don't like the Sweet & Sour sauce. But my family loves it. So, they always order Sweet & sour pork or fish but I only eat one small piece every time.

Fried chicken cutlet. The meat was tender and soft. Yummy!

Sambal sweet potato leaves. This is damn good.

I've always loved steamed eggs. This was a bonus because they added century egg bits into it.

Ostrich Meat. Taste like lamb meat. Its really yummy too! Favorite dish of the meal.

Fried tofu in thai chilli sauce. ME NO LIKE. The fried tofu had no taste and the chilli wasn't in favour either.

After dinner, Mum went to visit the Casino for the night while my father, steve, my sister and I went back to the hotel to rest a little. We met again around 8pm and walked around for a little bit before going back to the hotel again for the night and had cup noodles for supper!

With my sister outside when the clouds began to set in.

We were really thirsty and we saw they had Chatime newly opened there so I bought the Jasmine Green Milk Tea to try! Not bad.

My sticky and shiny face with my yummy supper!

GOOD NIGHT!

Stay tuned to the next blog post on Day two of Genting Trip 2013! :D
